Fishing Report 05-20-21

From water to bugs, it’s all things “big” in and around Glacier National Park and the Flathead Valley. With a string of high pressure systems, the big river is showing her might with water conditions at bank full with snowmelt. It’s the annual recharge from the high country. This past week, the fishing has been moderate to good with some small waters producing major bug activity. All in all, It’s a great time to be an angler in the beautiful area known as the Crown of the Continent.

The big flush from the mountains in and around Glacier National Park has finally arrived. Mother Nature took it’s sweet time this year. As a result, we enjoyed some great fishing later into the spring. The snow pack from in and around Glacier National Park is making its way through the forks. Down into the main stem and flowing into Flathead Lake. It might be a while until the big river is fishable again but luckily for us there is great fishing to be had elsewhere. It’s small water and Stillwater season in the Flathead Valley!

You know what is a lot more fun than paying taxes? Well, that list is quite long. But if one was wanting to find an activity to get away from the tax season blues, there is no better place to be than the Flathead Valley and Glacier National Park. We have seen fishing in the Flathead valley range from really good (think getting a tax refund) to No bueno (think getting audited by the IRS). It’s still very much worth your time to get out there and enjoy what this valley has to offer. Here is a run down of what we have observed recently on our local waters.
